Beauty standards are a toxic concept engraved in our society with about as much legitimacy and logic as folklore and fairytales. The body trolls are physical manifestations of insecurities gathered through surveys taken by multiple demographics. The trolls purpose are to highlight how absurd, to a sense where it's comical, the parts about ourselves we don't like.

They may be "ugly", but they're just as beautiful, unique and valuable as everyone else.
